A Rich & Successful History

In 1976, Richmond City Cricket Club's 2 senior men's sides were accepted into the Turf Section of the Eastern Suburbs Cricket Association. This followed many successful years playing under the umbrella of the Eugene Gorman Opportunity Youth Club (et. mid 1950's) on mats in the Prahran and Southern Districts Cricket Association.

Since that time the club has grown substantially to now field 7 sides consisting of, 5 Senior men’s sides, a Junior side, and a Veterans XI (over 40s). Our success since joining the ESCA (now known as the Eastern Cricket Association), has been exceptional, particularly as the Association recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Some of our most notable achievements in our short history include:

  • Being the first club to win 3 Senior Turf Premierships in a row, then topping that by winning the premiership again the following season, making it 4 in a row.

  • The first and only club to win a premiership in Senior Grade Turf following a premiership the previous year in ‘A’ Grade Turf.

  • Launching our first Women's Team in the 2017/18 Season who enjoyed massive success in their league.

  • Back to Back Grand Final Appearances by our Women's Team in Season 2019/20 and 2020/21

Richmond City Cricket Club:

20 Senior Premierships

10 Junior Premierships

Total 30 Premierships in 40+ Years as a club.
