Club Constitution
The constitution is a basic set of rules that are used for the running of the Richmond City Cricket Club. It details for our members and others, the name, objects, methods of management, and other conditions under which our club operates.
This document also regulates the relationship between members by setting out the basis for working with other co-members.

Safeguarding Children & Young People
Richmond City Cricket Club recognizes the important role that children and young people play within our sport and the special care and attention that they need in order to feel safe and as a result, make the following statement:

That the Richmond City Cricket Club endorse and adopt Australian Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children and Young People, Australian Cricket’s ‘Looking After Our Kids’ Code of Behaviour for Affiliated Associations and Clubs, and Australian Cricket’s Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People, effective as at 1st Sept 2024.
Therefore, Richmond City Cricket Club provides the following documentation to demonstrate our commitment to Children and Young People and their safety and security.

The 11 Child Safe Standards
​Richmond City CC supports and follows of the 11 Child Safe Standards .
​
1) Establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experience of Aboriginal
Children and Young People are respected and valued
2) Embed Child Safety and Wellbeing in organisational leadership, governance and culture
3) Empower Children and Young People so that they know their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and
are taken seriously
4) Inform and engage families in respect to child safety and wellbeing
5) Ensure that equity & diversity is upheld through our policies and practices
6) Engage volunteers and officials to ensure that they are suitable to work with Children and Young People
7) Handle complaints and concerns promptly, thoroughly and with a child focused approach
8) Educate volunteers, staff (if applicable) and officials – in consultation with Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia -
to provide them with the knowledge and skills to keep Children and Young People safe
9) Promote the safety & wellbeing of Children and Young People through physical and online environments
10) Review and improve our child safe policies, procedures, and practices regularly
11) Role model behaviour and actions documented in policies, procedures and practices guiding how our organisation is safe for Children and Young People

COMPLAINTS AND RESOLUTION POLICY
A BY-LAW OF CRICKET VICTORIA

There is a new Complaints and Resolution Policy for non-match day misconduct allegations that, at a very high level, means that:
​
-
all child safeguarding and serious criminal conduct matters will be referred to Cricket Victoria, who can either manage them or delegate to other cricket organisations to manage; and
-
Victorian cricket organisations managing alleged breaches under our Australian Cricket Child Safeguarding Framework and/or Member Protection Policy (MPP) have additional resolution options. This includes issuing warnings, breach notices and investigations, in addition to mediation and tribunals.

MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY
A BY-LAW OF CRICKET VICTORIA

Cricket Victoria, Richmond City Cricket Club and all Victorian Cricket Organisations are committed to cricket in Victoria being played in environments that are as safe, welcoming and inclusive as possible.
Victorian cricket competitions generally have their own rules and/or policies in place that govern conduct and behaviour for match days, which all Victorian cricket participants must follow, as applicable.
​
Outside of competitions and matches, this Member Protection Policy includes a central Code of Behaviour (see Attachment C) that aims to protect the safety and wellbeing of all Victorian cricket participants.
Richmond City Cricket Club adopts this Member Protection Policy to protect the safety and wellbeing of all Victorian cricket participants.
This Member Protection Policy prohibits behaviour or conduct that causes harm and/or disrespects any person in Victorian cricket. Breaches of this Member Protection Policy include: Abuse, Bullying, Child Safeguarding Matters under the Australian Cricket's Child Safe Policies, Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Unlawful Discrimination, Victimisation, Vilification, breaching the Code of Behaviour, referred conduct under the Rules of Premier Cricket, a breach of the Member Protection Declaration, and a breach of any other by-law, policy, procedure or requirement of Cricket Victoria that is expressly stated in that document to constitute a breach of this By-law.
