At Richmond City, we are proud of the family culture that we have built over the years, a culture that not only encourages players and their families to engage with the club of the ground, but also to look for ways that families can engage with the club on the ground, and this week we saw another example of that very thing!
On Saturday we saw I.B.Mirza and his father Y.B.Mirza take the field together for not only the first time for Richmond City, but also for the first time ever!
Batting together we were hoping for a long partnership, however, a beautifully pitched ball saw I.B.M leave his father at the crease to continue to build to our total (an element I'm sure Y.B.M will not let his son forget).
We also later enjoyed the two working together as behind the stumps as wicketkeeper and 1st slip.
What a special day for the family as well as the club, and we couldn’t be prouder, not only of their effort with the bat and in the field, but especially as it was the first time that the father-son duo had taken the field together.
Just another reason we are so proud of the club culture that we have established at Richmond City!
